Affiliates

(Reading time: 8 – 14 minutes)

If you like Blog Post Engineering (or any other product on Website In A Weekend), and want to make a little sideline cash, become a Website In A Weekend affiliate. Affiliates get advance notice (or “early warning”) about new products and updates to existing products. It’s super easy to sign up, just follow the 3-Step procedure below.

First, here’s what’s in it for you:

  1. 50% minimum on all products. Leading affiliates may get better terms. If you have a really huge and responsive list, let’s talk.
  2. No minimum payout. If you earn 50 cents, I send you 50 cents at the end of the month.
  3. Monthly payout each calendar calendar month. E-Junkie recommends paying out mid-month in the following month.
  4. Coaching and membership programs excluded. Time doesn’t scale like products! Membership programs will likely have a different affiliation structure in the future. (Honestly, handling affiliates for membership programs is weak across the board unless you’re using really expensive – too expensive – software or rolling your own software. This is a business opportunity!)
  5. E-Junkie works with Paypal. If you don’t have a Paypal account, now is the time to get one. Indispensible.

Simple, effective, a good deal for everyone!

So let’s be about it.

3 Easy Steps

  1. Join the Website In A Weekend affiliate program at E-Junkie.com.
  2. Sign up for the Affiliate Newsletter. Read more about the benefits (and signup) on the Affiliate Newsletter page.
  3. Download the BPE Affiliate KISS Kit. After you have downloaded the kit, make sure to read about using the BPE KISS Kit.

Affiliate Information

Low traffic affiliate newsletter

E-Junkie doesn’t have an integrated newsletter solution for affiliates. I’ll be extending and modifying the Website In A Weekend affiliate program as I bring more products to market. If you would like to stay informed (and not have to check back here), sign up for the Affiliate’s Newsletter below.

Note: this is a completely separate opt-in list, and is limited to affiliates and people interested in becoming affiliates only. I’m anticipating it being fairly low traffic.

Marketing tools you can use

I’d like to make it really easy for you, so here is growing list of tools you can use to promote.

Here’s the one I’m really proud of: a plugin you can use to just drop in an affiliate widget.

Blog Post Engineering Widget Plugin

You have probably noticed the Blog Post Engineering badge in the upper right corner of the Website In A Weekend home page, at the top of the sidebar. While it looks like every other sidebar badge, it’s not.

Blog Post Engineering Widget plugin

Blog Post Engineering Widget plugin, drag and drop ease-of-use.

It’s way cooler.

It’s actually a plugin that provides a widget. The image and sales text are already written for you. All you have to do is add the title for the widget, the flyover text, and your affiliate URL.

And check it out: you add this stuff just like every other widget, fill out the form in the widget interface and you’re done:

  • No more messy HTML.
  • No more fiddling with stubborn CSS.
  • Just drag and drop, paste in your link, you’re good to go.

Get the Blog Post Engineering sidebar widget plugin. Installing is easy:

  • Download the bpe.zip file to your computer.
  • Upload the bpe.zip file using the WordPress built-in plugin zip file uploader.
  • Activate “BPE Widget” plugin.
  • Go to Widgets admin page, drag the Blog Post Engineering widget to your sidebar.
  • Fill in the blanks, everything should be self-explanatory. (The title attribute is for rollovers as usual.)
  • Save and close, you’re in business.

Images, banners, etc

Here’s some handy badges and banners you can use if you don’t want to use the automatic shortcodes supplied by the plugin.
