Blog Post Engineering 0.7.2 ready to roll

(Reading time: 2 – 3 minutes)

Those of you following along on the newsletter know that today is a pretty big day for Website In A Weekend: The 0.7.2 release of Blog Post Engineering (code named Barger) is ready for your examination.

Friday morning (July 23) I got this email from Martha W:

Thanks for adding me to this list. I would like to learn how to be more SEO friendly without being keyword happy. I won’t change my topics or my style, but I’m not opposed to dressing up a bit more, I just don’t know how!

Martha: you are precisely the person I for whom I’m writing Blog Post Engineering. Search engines are getting smarter and smarter over time. Write your very best every time, and use the principles in Blog Post Engineering to wrap your writing for search engine friendliness. No, it’s not SEO, but it’s when you’re ready for SEO, you’ll have a head start.

Here’s what’s in the 0.7.2 package:

  • The Blog Post Engineering manual, in PDF format, with a selection of helpful links (ok, a lot of links) to material on Website In A Weekend going into much greater depth.
  • Handy numbered checklist form for evaluating your own blog posts.
  • Bonuses!
    1. Kelly Diels, The Red Shoe Blogger, interviews about Blog Post Engineering. MP3 and transcript included.
    2. Dave Thackeray puts me on the hot seat! MP3 and transcript.
    3. Professional writer Aaron Pogue cuts loose with a few chapters of his guide to building an ebook. (It’s good, I bought myself a copy!)
  • Slide deck in PDF format which highlights critical information for you, and provides a link to the relevant blog post.
  • Affiliate kit, including a plugin and graphics to make it easy for you to promote Blog Post Engineering as an affiliate.
  • I also tossed in a “Thank You” letter with some background on how this all came about. I appreciate your support, and I hope you enjoy it.

0.7.2 is far from the last release; there’s a lot more planned for the future. But this is enough for now.

And it won’t ever get cheaper.

If you have a blog post on this launch, please share your link below, and I’ll collect them all into a future post.

If you’re not sure whether you want to purchase Blog Post Engineering, read some of the links, buy through someone else’s affiliate. It’s all good!

  2. Hey Dave :)
Can’t believe it’s the 27th already! I’ve got to ask, what does ‘barger’ mean? Did you code name it that because you’re pushing the boat out?

I did two blog posts about this launch. The short and sweet one on <a href="http://www.giveabrick.com/blog-post-engineering/" Give A Brick told everyone that they’d be supporting charity if they bought through the affiliate link on there whilst I wrote a few lines more about how awesome it is on Heaven and El (link via Comment Luv. I dare not add it here in case akismet thinks I smell of the bad stuff ;)) which of course also has a lovely link to Give A Brick’s affiliate account. Had I got my act together on time, I’d have done one on my other secret place too (shhh!) but I ran out of time.

Have a fabulous day. I hope you sell bazillions of copies. :)

Dave, the new Blog Post Engineering is fantastic! I love the slides, love the bonuses, I love the detailed and systematic guidelines to engineering each and every blog post. Pure gold.

And, even though each and every one of my blog posts is a photo and poem, I wrote a really quick one so everyone who visits, and everyone who gets my daily email, could see the affiliate link.

May BPE fly off the shelves at warp speed…
