Help Haiti Blog Challenge: I’m Yours… All Weekend

by Dave Doolin on January 16, 2010 · 6 comments

(Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes)

My friend Kelly Diels at Cleavage is on fire. Not only is she a first-rate copy writer, guest blogger and all-around Queen of the Written Word, she’s taken charge of coordinating a blogger challenge to help relief and rescue efforts in Haiti.

(Yes, I’m a shameless fan. Get over it.)

Here’s the deal: you commit to building your website in a weekend next weekend, I’ll personally coach you through the entire process… for $300.

That’s right, I’ll be available for the entire weekend, just for you, for the fantastic rate of $300.

Get this: You don’t pay me… you make the donation, I’ll help you build your website in a weekend.

That’s an incredible bargain.

If you hired me as a high-end consultant on a large government subcontract, that would get about 2.5 hours of my time. (And I’d be absolutely delighted to prove this, if necessary. Just send me an email, I’ll send you a copy of one of my invoices from 2008 as long as you’re willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement.)

And get this:
We’ll do it on Scout’s Honor, because I have better things to do than worry about whether you honor your pledge or not.

If you’ve been procrastinating, the time is now: pull the trigger.

Not only that…

  • I’m willing to take on up to 4 people.
  • If you want, I’ll write an article about our experience, and link to your brand new website. If you would rather stay anonymous, that’s cool too.
  • I’ll leave the deadline open until Wednesday January 20, 2010, Midnight PST, which is about late as anywhere in the world.

Help for Haiti: Learn What You Can Do

And yes, this will be cutting into my plans for the weekend. I’m a busy guy, and I’ll have to cut out of my friend Lydia’s dinner party early. You’ll be taking up some of my surfing time. I’m glad to give it up for this cause.

And remember, you pay me nothing. Make your donation, tell me you’re ready to rock and roll, we build you a WordPress website.

Let’s do this, folks.

Mark your calendar for January 22, 2010. Leave a comment below, or email me, we’ll work out the details.

Hi David,
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to get themselves into gear and help support people in need. I really do hope you get your four takers for this. I’m re-tweeting now and will continue to do so between now and the closing date.

Thanks Eleanor.

It’s always interesting to watch what happens when it’s time to take action.

I know there’s people reading this who are very close to the verge, but I just don’t know how to reach them.

I do know once they take action, they will be happy they did, and they will wonder why they waited so long.

Wow, that’s a great deal for some folks. Professional help for a whole weekend for peanuts. I’ll be spreading the word.

That is so nice and kind of you sir. May the heaven’s gate open and pour out its blessings upon you. We will pray for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. If the people have a mentality just like yours and your friend “writer”, then Haiti will have no worries. Good luck and best wishes! :)
