Benefit: Links between blogs help drive traffic.
Problem: Getting more traffic to any blog is a perennial issue for all bloggers.
Practical WordPress Tip: If you have more than one WordPress blog, use the other blog URL as your contact URL on your profile to help drive traffic to other blog when you comment.
Then, people will get directed to your other blog from your comment on the present blog, instead of just getting pointed where they are already at.
That is, have each blog point to each other.
Here’s how: This one is easy, just go to Users >> Your Profile administration page and change your Website link to another blog where you want traffic.
Why: This is a very specialized tip, which won’t be of interest to all readers, but could be very useful for advanced bloggers. When you operate more than one blog, you are always faced with decisions about when and where to drive traffic. Using a different URL in your profile will link your comments back to that other URL, helping to drive traffic there. Using the same URL simply results in traffic being driven back to the same site. Alternatively, you could use your profile URL to drive traffic to a sales page for products or consulting.

Duh.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this. In retrospect it is so obvious.
Here I was getting the commentluv plugin installed on my sites and thinking “it sure is a shame that when I comment on my own site it just links to my site again”.
