Good post on Server throttling. Based on the hosting plans, companies provides special privileges to their clients. It's even good when you are in full control about what's happening with your site.

Hi Dave,
This is great info. I know when I up-graded recently, the problem went away. I really thought it was a ploy to get everyone to up-grade! Now, thanks to you, I can check it whenever I want. Good article.

I touched on this a little bit when I talked about moving to Bluehost Pro, which by the way pretty much eliminates throttling. I had an instance of about 1500 visitors in a couple of hours and there was no throttling at all.

I think it's because when you upgrade they put you onto a quieter server and give you more resources so it's not as much of a problem.

It's handy to know how to check this information though, because unless you really do have to upgrade due to bad throttling I actually wouldn't bother (depending on what kind of sites you're hosting of course and what your traffic is like).

I agree with John. Just the fact that Google may penalize sites with multiple H1 elements would make me stay far away from the practice. I just don't want to take a chance when there are many more ways to try to rank better in search results.

Hi.
I don't know if this is an appropriate place for this question, but I'm puttin' it out there anyway...
My business's website was recently re-designed (by someone else; I'm not a designer/developer, although I have some basic HTML knowledge), and the new site's theme is Genesis 1.7.1.

When I log into the WordPress Dashboard, a message tells me that Genesis 1.8.0 is available and it gives the option to update now. I haven't done that yet. If I click on "check out what's new" for 1.8.0 it says: "Please note the Genesis Page and Category menu widgets should not be used any longer. We've already begun the process of deprecating them, and will be removed by version 2.0.0. Please use the "Custom Menu" widget instead."

Hmm... Does this mean if I update to 1.8.0 it's going to mess up my site? Can anyone explain what that comment above means?

Thanks a lot.
