@Sean, @Barbara -

I need to take my own advice more often! Look for more "snackable" posts in the future.

Great advice Doc! I have been writing mostly shorter articles and have a new topic that could easily be divided into several segments. I was trying to figure out how to manage the size of the post. The segue to the newer posts is all I need. Thanks for the reinforcement!

I know I have a "more is better" mentality, and I feel like my posts need to be longer to give value to the reader. I know this isnt exactly true, but it's something I struggle with.

Shorter word count for such articles may be appropriate, but it would require more work to ensure everything fit together correctly.

You might want to consider some sort of call to action as well.

Now that I think of it, I should add a call to action on these Practical WordPress Tips articles as well.

I've been using a similar technique on my blog for long content that is waaaay too long for a single post. I've been writing about 1,000 to 1,500 words though. Do you think a shorter word count is more appropriate?
