(Reading time: 4 – 6 minutes)
Where does the time go?
Seems like just last week I was writing one of these Reviews…
News of the week
First, on Monday Josh Kohlbach published the second guest post on Website In A Weekend. Mondays are a great day for guest posting! So good in fact that Larry Herrin has next Monday’s slot filled with an excellent article on WordPress. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
So,
Burning Man Decompression rocked!
How hard does Decompression rock…? Ask Google. Here, I’ll do it for you: search Google for “decompression.”
Decompression owns itself on Google.
That’s how hard Decompression rocks!
How cool is that!
My ears are still ringing. Ok, that might be from caffeine poisoning, but it was still a blast. Couldn’t even tell you how many DJs showed up. A lot. And some bands too, like Drinking With Bukowski. I love seeing local talent, and we have a lot of it here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I didn’t make it over to Opulent Temple, probably won’t hear about that until tomorrow (I’m writing this on Monday 12 October, gotta love the Drafts queue!).
This past week saw an unusual Sunday blog post. Sunday is a day off for Website In A Weekend, but celebrating the arrival of the first disgruntled reader absolutely required an article of it’s own. Rather than horn into the already scheduled guest post on Monday, we let it fly on Sunday. I did what I thought was a very nice email to said person offering to help them find what they were looking for, but I never heard anything back. So much passion! I would rather have that energy working for than against, it costs very little to reach out.

Updated posts
Nothing this week. You got an extra article (Sunday) instead!
Articles from the Archives!
Each week, we’ll showcase a great post buried down in the archives, useful material you can use right away. This week, check out How To Implement “Publish, then polish” For Fast Blog Posts. I’ve seen similar material published by Big Name Bloggers in the last couple of months, but nothing in as much detail as I provide here. I’d like to think I was first out of the gate, but I’ve been around long enough to know that really good ideas have a habit of springing up all over the place, at about the same time.
The upshot is that this article will help you write for both readers and search engines.
Upcoming
Watch for an excellent guest article from Larry Herrin on WordPress. I’d love to give the title right here and now, but I don’t want to spill the beans. It’s a great read.
Speaking of which, who wants to post as a guest on Monday October 26, 2009? Mondays are hereby declared “Guest Post Day.”
