Another week, another 37¢.
That’s a really old joke. Probably Depression-era. Never mind.
Let’s get on with it.
News
Website In A Weekend is delighted to welcome Holly Jahangiri as our first guest author. Holly took the plunge into advanced SEO analysis of her blog It’s All a Matter of Perspective: Mine and reports the results in Do-It-Yourself SEO Using Microsoft’s Bing Toolkit. She hit a homer, check it out.
Commenting here and on There Is No Box is starting to pick up. As both websites move up in search engine ranking, I expect older articles to acquire more comments.
The Insider list was kicked off last Sunday. You can’t subscribe directly, you have to go through the newsletter (Sign up over there to the right). I’m working through tips and tricks of the AWeber autoresponder system.
Updated
A lot work on the Practical WordPress Tips series this week. Too much work to highlight individual tips. In a nutshell, each tip was updated:
- Practical WordPress Tips for forward and backwards linking to other tips.
- Added call to action: Send in your Practical WordPress tip!
I created a template page for the Tips series as well. Look for a new tip explaining how to do that.
New posts
- Unleash WordPress: Developing Your Commenting Strategy. Choose one of 4 types of commenting systems to encourage readers to continue the discussion.
- Practical WordPress Tip #13: Posts In Same Series Need Unique Tag. Find out how a simple technique allowing you and your readers find series posts helps your SEO as well.
- Do-It-Yourself SEO Using Microsoft’s Bing Toolkit. As noted above, our first guest post! Here’s the SEO Description: Bing SEO toolkit provides a surprising amount of advanced data in a form easy to understand and act upon for getting better search engine results.
- Practical WordPress Tip #14: Manage a huge Draft Queue for Daily blog posting. A large list of draft blog posts provides for daily posting, if you can manage these drafts as easily and efficiently as shown in this Practical WordPress Tip.
Upcoming
Insiders: look for detailed information on topics already covered. I have screenshots to share.
There’s a couple more tips of course. If you have a tip you would like to share, and it fits into the Tips template, by all means, pass it along.
“How to Really Publish a Blog Post” is being sent out for typesetting bids. I have a couple of bids back already… it ain’t cheap boys and girls. If I go with the outfit I’m leaning towards right now, I will guarantee you won’t find better typesetting in any ebook, anywhere! (Hint: we’re looking at X3TeX). I’ve added another point, the book is up to 25 points now. There’s 3 of the Preprints remaining, get yours for $4.95 as a newsletter subscriber (sign up to the right, or in the popup).
Have a great week, we’ll see you Friday.
